Chapman University Alumni Leaders Partner to Launch First Ever Business Radio Show in Laguna Beach

Starting Saturday Jan. 2, 2016 at 7 a.m., Orange County and the world will hear a fresh take on business talk radio with “Talking Ventures” on KX 93.5 FM in Laguna Beach and www.KX935.com.

“With entrepreneurship becoming a vital part of the American vernacular, many people are inspired to create a business they can call their own”, according to the show’s creator Justin Klein '05.  “Talking Ventures” was born as a service to all those who want to grow their knowledge base about the latest business trends and entrepreneurial experiences.”

Klein is the current co-host of the InvestTalk radio show and Executive Vice President of KPP Financial, and was inspired by the daily successes he sees in the business world and in his local community.  Through his experiences he sees entrepreneurship as crucial to human and economic development.

Recently, Klein met Tyler Russell, the Program Director and Founder of KX93.5 and a fellow Chapman University Alumnus, and proposed the idea of “Talking Ventures.” Russell thought the show would be an excellent fit for its highly local, community-oriented and smart programming. “Talking Ventures” co-hosting responsibilities will be covered by Klein’s friends Anthony Katz and Mike Brown '06.

Katz is the Founder & President of Hyperice, a highly successful recovery and movement enhancement technology company specializing in portable high performance sports medicine and orthopedic devices that provide preventative treatment, accelerate injury recovery, and enhance muscle and joint performance. He has won the 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year for “Men’s Fitness Magazine” as well as the 2015 Men’s Health Businessman of the Year award.  His products are used by top athletes in the world and by the top athletic trainers to help their clients perform better.

Brown is the Co-Founder & CEO of ModBargains and ModAuto as well as Chairman of Chapman50.  Mike started ModBargains out of the Chapman University library at age 19 from his passion for modifying his own BMW.  He turned his expertise and experience into a business and was named the Global Student Entrepreneur in 2006 after generating over $1.5 million in revenue while he was still in college.  Mike has been named to the OC Metro's 40 Under 40, SEMA's 35 Under 35, and is a Lead Mentor at the Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship.  In addition, Mike is a board member at the Marconi Automotive Museum & Foundation for Kids, and has received congressional recognition for Outstanding Business Leadership in the Automotive and Internet space.
