On Thursday July 23, 2015, Chapman50 founding member and chair of career and industry partnerships Alex Hayden '95 hosted a C-Suite Exchange event with special guest David E. I. Pyott, Chapman University trustee and former CEO of Allergan. Chapman50 members Mark Rogerson ’04, Pat Boulard ’90 (MBA ’92), Marc Hickman ’06 and Mike Brown ’06 were in attendance at the event along with Hayden, who introduced Reggie Gilyard, dean of Chapman University's Argyros School of Business and Economics. Gilyard interviewed Mr. Pyott about "Leading in Turbulent Times", particularly focusing on the challenges of facing a $45 billion hostile takeover attempt by Valeant head-on and creating a better outcome for his shareholders and employees by being acquired by Actavis for $70 billion. Gilyard remarked "David Pyott was both enlightening and candid.  We can't thank him enough for sharing his experiences with other local leaders."

Alex Hayden commented "I am proud to be associated with such a great event and enhance the Panther brand.   The event afforded a great opportunity to remind Orange County Executives to think Chapman First when hiring new employees or as a vendor partner."

“As a young CEO myself, the opportunity to be in the same room with a titan such as David Pyott was an incredible experience, “ said Brown. “Without Chapman50 and my relationship with Alex Hayden through our group, I don't think I would have been afforded an invitation to this event and therefore would not have learned so much about leadership from Mr. Pyott's words. Chapman University's efforts to organize and host such a powerful event are unique to Orange County and are invaluable to the local business ecosystem.”
