On December 3rd I attended one of my favorite annual events, the Chapman University Economic Forecast. The forecast is accurate, dependable, and entertaining every year. I am proud that I graduated from a university that is the best at forecasting our economy! Even better that our awesome University President, Jim Doti, presents the forecast to the audience every year along with Essi Adibi.

Following the forecast at the beautiful Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Chapman50 members were hosted at the Center Club for a mixer along with other Chapman alumni.  Following opening remarks by Brady Hogan & Jimmy Blalock, Chapman50 Founder & Chairman Sinan Kanatsiz welcomed all attendees to the mixer and encouraged us to enjoy the event, while calling attention to the accuracy of Chapman's economic forecast over the years.  President Doti was in attendance and addressed the group, energizing the room full of attendees who had already learned what to expect from our economy in the next year.

One of my favorite moments of the mixer was when Chapman University Executive Vice President Sheryl Bourgeouis was kind enough to introduce me to Dale & Sarah Ann Fowler, Chapman University trustees.  In 2013 the Fowlers donated $55 million to the Chapman University School of Law, the 2nd largest donation in United States history to a law school.  My brief conversation with the Fowlers filled me with energy and purpose to continue to drive forward in my goals, especially considering Mr. Fowler's automotive background & my passion for the automotive industry.  Opportunities to learn from those around us who possess immense wisdom & experience are rare and should never be taken for granted.  Without Chapman50, I don't think I would have had the opportunity to have a one on one conversation with Dale Fowler, and I am extremely grateful.

As a member of Chapman50, you have made a choice to surround yourself with great people.  The more events you attend and the more friendships you cultivate inside Chapman50, the more we will all learn from each other.  As we learn, we will continue to grow, achieve big things, and be able to make huge impacts for our alma mater, Chapman University.
