On September 9, members of Chapman50 attended the Susan G. Komen Pink Tie Guys Mixer hosted by the Chapman University MBA Alumni Association. This event was made possible by Chapman50 member Rob Selway ’07 (MBA ’13) reaching out to Scott Johnson (MBA ’13), president of the Chapman MBA Alumni Association, to arrange for Chapman50 members to have access to attend the mixer. Chapman50 members in attendance included Selway, Brandon Avery ’02, Sam Lahham (MBA ’13), Jonathan Sanchez (MBA ’13) and Mike Brown ’06. Community and university leaders were also in attendance, along with official Pink Tie Guys who are major contributors to the Susan G. Komen foundation.

The purpose of the event was to bring further awareness to breast cancer research and funding through the Susan G. Komen Foundation, particularly to raise awareness for the 5k race, which Chapman's Alumni Association is a major participant in. Last year, the Chapman team received recognition for most money raised by a rookie team in the race.
